Innovation hub grows roster with trio of tenants
A business centre has bolstered its ranks with a trio of tenants.
The 3M Buckley Innovation Centre has welcomed Munnch, Xanthe Quayle Landscape Architects and Machine Tool Technologies.
Bosses say the arrivals “underscore” the Huddersfield-based hub’s role in supporting innovative SMEs”.
Munnch is known for home-compostable bioplastic products across areas including furniture, with Xanthe Quayle’s portfolio including town centre regeneration and visitor attraction projects across England.
Machine Tool Technologies delivers CNC machine tool support.
Henry Rigg, chief executive at 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, which operates as a subsidiary of the University of Huddersfield, said: “We’re delighted to welcome such a diverse group of innovative businesses.
“Their presence strengthens our position as a hub for innovation and enterprise in the region, and reflects the growing demand for flexible, high-quality workspace supported by strong industry and academic connections.”
Hailing its move, Ben Coyne, Munnch co-founder, said: “We were looking for a small lab space close to our home base of Leeds.
“3M Buckley Innovation Centre offered both a suitable lab space, as well as a community of scientific and design-driven people, through which we were able to source solutions to our set-up challenges quickly and easily.”
Andrew Spalding, Machine Tool Technologies’ operations director, added: “This brings us closer to our long-standing partners at the University of Huddersfield and the Centre for Precision Technologies.
“The centre also provides an ideal location for our remote staff to work flexibly, and offers us a professional setting to host customers and demonstrate our latest technologies.”
