Ocado expands with new Nottingham hub
An online retailer is set to boost its delivery capacity with an “outstanding” new facility.
Ocado Retail has secured a 15-year lease on a 66,000sq ft distribution hub at Fairham Business Park, near Nottingham, scheduled to open this autumn.
The new site, shown below, will operate around the clock, employing over 400 staff, including drivers, office workers and maintenance teams.
The hub will support the growing demand for online grocery deliveries in the Nottingham area and feature upgrades like fuel pumps and advanced security systems.
Since 2000, Ocado has grown to serve more than 80 per cent of the UK’s population, offering around 50,000 products to over a million active customers.
Law firm Gordons, headquartered in Leeds, advised Ocado on the lease agreement.
Sarah Ratcliffe, commercial property partner at Gordons, said: “The new distribution centre will be an outstanding facility.
“We are very pleased to have helped with the distribution hub’s acquisition and look forward to seeing it become fully operational later this year.”
