Tech firm Thrive expands with Huler deal

A tech firm has expanded with a takeover.

Thrive has bought Huler.

Bosses say the deal for the Stoke-headquartered workplace management platform operator “extends Thrive’s reach into the internal communications and employee experience market”.

They add the agreement – which comes just days after Nottingham-headquartered Thrive bought mentoring and coaching platform Guider – will “create a truly artificial intelligence-first employee experience”.

Working with clients including Travelodge, Norgine and Dairy Queen, Huler’s technology provides users with calendars, messaging and job ticket functions, workflow management boards and company updates.

Under the terms of the takeover, officials say it will continue to operate as a standalone brand, with “significant investment” planned to boost analytics, artificial intelligence-driven personalisation and greater search capabilities.

Sean Reddington, founder and chief executive at Thrive, which works with firms including British Airways and Volvo, with its technology used to support sales and employees’ learning and development, said: “We’re in the artificial intelligence era now, and it’s time workplace tools caught up.

“With Thrive, Guider and Huler, we’re building tools that are fit for how people think, learn and work today.

“They’re fast, intuitive and built to bring together human connection and artificial intelligence – the way work should be.”

Richard Urwin, Huler chief executive, added: “We’ve always had bold ambitions and a different way of doing things, so teaming up with Thrive made perfect sense.

“With their momentum, vision and standout tech stack, we’re not just building tools for the artificial intelligence era, we’re delivering them to customers who are ready to lead now.”

The deal comes after Thrive agreed a move to new headquarters in London’s King’s Cross.
