New Burghley Green housing scheme approved
A new phase of housing development has been approved on the outskirts of Cambridge, paving the way for more family and first-time buyer homes.
Taylor Wimpey East Anglia has secured planning consent for 203 properties at Burghley Green, in West Cambourne.
The scheme, which has been approved by South Cambs District Council, will include a mix of two to five-bedroom homes, with 30 per cent allocated as affordable housing.
Part of a wider masterplan for the area, Burghley Green features play areas, meadows, cycleways, shops and a primary school, as well as links into Cambourne and access to St Neots station for London commuters.
Andrew Wright, senior technical and planning manager at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: “We’re pleased to have received planning approval for the latest phase at Burghley Green.
“Not only will we be building another 203 much-needed homes, we will also be providing community contributions towards the open green space in West Cambourne.
“We look forward to work commencing shortly and seeing the friendly and welcoming community at West Cambourne continue to grow.”
Work on the latest phase is due to begin in 2026, with the first homes expected to go on sale in summer 2027.
