Student housing firm unveils London scheme
A student housing developer is set to embark on a 200-plus-bed capital scheme.
Landmark Properties has bought a site in London’s William Road.
Bosses say the deal will create a 225-bed site backed by “high-quality amenity space”.
Based close to University College London, Euston Station and Regent’s Park, they say it will “place future residents at the heart of one of the world’s leading academic and medical hubs”.
The venture – which represents Landmark Properties’ first UK land acquisition – was supported by Knight Frank’s student property team, with student accommodation provider Centurion Corporation also backing the project.
Wes Rogers, Landmark Properties’ chair and chief executive, said: “Closing our first development deal in the UK represents a huge milestone.
“We’re excited to bring much-needed, purpose-built student accommodation to the UK.”
Rupert Strutt, partner in Knight Frank’s student property team, added: “Landmark Properties’ entry into London is a significant vote of confidence in the sector’s resilience and long-term growth.
“There is a great appetite for well-located, high-quality schemes, and overseas investors are particularly attracted to UK purpose-built student accommodation as demand continues to outstrip supply.”
