Daiser identified by Plug and Play as one to watch
A North East-founded health tech firm is gaining international recognition.
Daiser, launched in 2024 by UK clinical expert Professor Mike Trenell and New York tech entrepreneur Adam Wootton, has been selected as one of just eight UK companies to join Plug and Play’s new accelerator programme.
The initiative identifies rising stars in digital health provision and provides support, investment opportunities and global connections.
Plug and Play, founded by Silicon Valley icon Saeed Amidi, has previously housed start-ups such as Google, Dropbox and PayPal.
The organisation now operates in more than 60 locations worldwide, supporting companies across 25 industries.
Adam McGuinness, programme director at Plug and Play UK, said: “Our accelerator programmes bring together both fast-growing startups and ambitious scale-ups, who are all tackling some of the biggest challenges in healthcare with bold, exciting solutions, and we’re thrilled to have the Daiser team onboard.
“For more than 30 years, Plug and Play has played a pivotal part in the global tech ecosystem and we maintain the same passion to inspire others and boost innovation as we did on the day Saeed launched his first operation in California.”
Daiser’s platform enables innovators to build digital health services using AI tools without writing code, while simplifying the procurement process for hospitals, insurers and pharmaceuticals.
Its plug-and-play approach allows health organisations to manage multiple services through a single platform.
Mike Trenell, chief executive and co-founder of Daiser, said: “It’s humbling and exciting in equal measures to be a part of Plug and Play’s latest healthtech cohort.
“They have such an exalted heritage in tech, so to be a part of their next accelerator programme in this fashion enables us to map an exciting future for Daiser.
“We’ve had fantastic traction with a number of world class commercial partnerships in recent months.
“The accelerator gives us a powerful opportunity to build on this, getting advice, support and connection with the Plug and Play networks.”
Despite operating for just over a year, Daiser has already been selected for Google’s AI in Healthcare Accelerator and is participating in the Association of British HealthTech Industries US Accelerator to showcase British healthcare technologies internationally.
The firm, which recently moved into Hale House in central London’s Harley Street district, has also forged partnerships with leading UK research and health bodies, including the South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub and the EPSRC EdgeAI Hub, cementing its position as a fast-growing force in digital health innovation.
