'Growth on radar' for tech firm as demand grows
A radio frequency technology firm supporting a headline interstellar venture is eyeing growth amid rising demand.
Filtronic says it is ready to “capitalise on long-term growth opportunities” following a raft of bumper deals.
The upbeat outlook comes after the company secured eye-catching agreements with Elon Musk’s SpaceX endeavour – which include a record £47.3 million partnership – and further contracts with Leonardo and Airbus Defence and Space.
And speaking in a pre-annual general meeting trading update, bosses say the firm is ready to bolster its market standing further, with more products to meet demand for “high-frequency, secure and resilient communications infrastructure across many platforms”.
A spokesperson for the firm, which is headquartered at NETPark, in Sedgefield, County Durham, said: “The start of the 2026 financial year has seen continued progress.
“The business has further strengthened its radio frequency and system engineering teams, positioning it to execute on the increased pipeline of technology and products that match the developing market opportunities that will drive growth over the next number of years.
“The group’s healthy sales pipeline, increased customer engagement with new and existing clients across key markets and robust order book leave it in a good position to meet market expectations for the full year.
“Over the longer term, customers are expressing a growing need for high-frequency, secure and resilient communications infrastructure across many platforms.
“We believe we have exciting products and capabilities to match this growing need.”
Filtronic has further sites in Leeds, Manchester and Cambridge.
