Esh begins 297-home upgrade in Hartlepool
A North East construction firm is spearheading a major housing upgrade programme in Hartlepool as part of a multi-million-pound investment to improve homes across the region.
Bowburn-headquartered Esh Construction has begun a £2.1 million refurbishment project at Throston Grange, delivering upgrades to 297 homes through Thirteen Group’s Capital Investment Framework.
Work includes new kitchens, electrical enhancements, fencing, canopies and roofline upgrades, all designed to modernise properties and improve residents’ living standards.
Part of Thirteen’s £58 million regional investment plans, launched in 2023, the scheme will enhance thousands of homes across the North East and Yorkshire.
The housing association is working closely with residents to ensure the improvements meet their needs and allow for personalisation, reflecting its commitment to providing quality homes and value for money.
Rubie Dixon-Lee, Thirteen’s investment area manager, said: “We’re committed to investing in our customers’ homes to make sure they meet their needs now and in the future.
“We’re continuing to deliver significant improvements to thousands of homes, and this investment in Hartlepool is another great example where we’re creating modern homes that our customers are proud to live in.”
Andrew Harrow, framework manager at Esh Construction, added: “The Throston Grange scheme is another example of how our partnership with Thirteen Group is delivering meaningful improvements to homes and communities.
“Through the Capital Investment Framework, we’ve developed a robust structure that allows us to deliver multiple schemes simultaneously, always with a customer-first approach.
“We’re proud to be playing a role in enhancing the quality, safety and energy efficiency of homes across the region.”
The Throston Grange project continues Esh Construction’s ongoing partnership with Thirteen, following the completion of recent energy and heating upgrades at Bramley Court and more than 150 homes across Stockton-on-Tees and Thornaby.
Work on the Hartlepool scheme is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
