Blacks Solicitors invests in next generation
Yorkshire-based Blacks Solicitors has strengthened its commitment to developing future legal professionals by retaining three newly qualified solicitors and offering new training opportunities across the firm.
Rosie Rudolph, Lana Bamforth and Sophie Spencer have all qualified at the firm, joining the real estate, employment and corporate teams, respectively, through apprenticeship and training contract routes.
Blacks has also awarded a training contract to Eve Pearson and two graduate apprenticeships to Dev Matharu and Chloe Kershaw, reinforcing its dedication to nurturing in-house talent and supporting diverse qualification pathways.
Rosie said: “I’m incredibly grateful for all the support the firm has given me throughout my apprenticeship from mentoring and training to the opportunities to work on such a wide variety of matters.
“Blacks has invested in my development from day one and I’m excited to join the real estate team and continue honing my skills.”
The 32-partner firm provides legal services to commercial and private clients across the UK and was recently recognised as one of the UK’s Best Companies to Work For and named “Legal Employer of the Year 2025” at the Yorkshire Business Hero Awards.
Emma Garfitt, partner and learning and development manager, added: “Our approach to developing legal talent is deeply embedded in both our culture and long-term strategy.
“We have always taken a forward-thinking approach to training and development, recognising that investing in people is essential to the continued success of our firm and the wider legal profession.
“As one of the first firms to adopt the solicitor apprenticeship, we’re proud to have supported the programme for more than eight years.
“It reflects our commitment to making a career in law more accessible and to developing skilled legal talent for the future.
“I’d like to congratulate Rosie, Lana and Sophie on qualifying, and wish all our trainees, NQs and apprentices every success as they continue their careers with us at Blacks.”
