Muckle LLP welcomes newly qualified solicitor
Muckle LLP has strengthened its highly ranked sports, education and charities team with the qualification of solicitor Jessie Melroy.
Jessie, who achieved a first-class law degree from Northumbria University in 2023, will support a wide range of clients including schools, colleges, charities and sports clubs.
During her training contract, Jessie completed seats across corporate finance, agricultural property, private client and employment, gaining broad experience before returning to the team permanently.
Alongside her client work, she serves as Muckle’s pro bono coordinator, helping to expand the firm’s community programme and supporting smaller charities and non-profits with essential legal advice.
Jessie said: “I initially applied for a vacation scheme at Muckle after meeting some of the trainees at a networking event.
“They were so welcoming and spoke so positively about their experience.
“That really inspired me to apply, and I was lucky enough to be offered a place on the training programme.
"I’ve always wanted to be a multidisciplinary solicitor, so it’s great to bring in experience from other seats and see how it all overlaps.
“What really makes this area special is the client base.
“We work with so many inspiring people who are all trying to make a positive difference.
“Our job is to support them, and you genuinely feel like you are part of the work those organisations are doing.”
Muckle’s sports, education and charities team is one of the largest in the region and is ranked top tier for education and charities, and nationally for sport, by Legal 500.
Jessie’s appointment reflects the firm’s continued investment in developing specialist talent across its key practice areas.
Joanne Davison, partner and head of sports, education and charities, added: “We are delighted that Jessie has taken a permanent position in the team.
“She’s shown real commitment and enthusiasm during her training and her passion in supporting community-focused clients aligns perfectly with what we do.
“Jessie has already made a strong impact across the firm through her pro bono role. We’re excited to see her career continue to grow with us.”
