Brodies adds partner and opens Leeds office
Brodies LLP has appointed Bill Barton as a partner and confirmed the opening of a new Leeds office as the firm continues to invest in the growth of its construction practice.
Bill brings more than 30 years’ experience in contentious and non-contentious construction law, advising clients across sectors including industrial, education and renewable energy.
His work covers contracts, adjudication, arbitration and litigation, and he is also a qualified mediator and Fellow of the Institute of Arbitrators.
Bill said: “Brodies is a firm that I admire for its client-first approach, its sector expertise and its commitment to technical excellence.
“In joining the construction practice I look forward to working alongside the firm’s wider team to bring the highest quality legal services to our clients across the UK.”
Bill joins Brodies alongside a team of eight construction lawyers, who will be based in the new Leeds office, strengthening the firm’s presence in England alongside its existing offices in London and across Scotland.
Stephen Goldie, managing partner of Brodies, added: “We provide legal services to a growing number of construction sector clients operating in the north of England and across the UK.
“The appointments of Bill and his team will complement our existing top-ranked contentious and non-contentious construction teams.
“This, combined with the opening of our office in Leeds, underlines our commitment to those construction clients and the value we place in those relationships.”
