Global law firm strengthens restructuring leadership
International law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP has appointed Bevis Metcalfe and Doug Mintz as co-chairs of its financial restructuring practice.
Bevis, based in London, and Doug, based in New York, will jointly lead the firm’s global restructuring team, which advises secured creditors, lenders and investors on complex restructurings and special situations across the US and Europe.
Bevis said: “I am very proud to be co-leading a fully integrated trans-Atlantic team of exceptionally talented bankruptcy, litigation and finance lawyers focused exclusively on delivering for clients in their most challenging mandates.”
Doug added: “I am honoured to have the opportunity to build on the incredible history of this firm and the restructuring team.
“We are continuing to do great work for great clients and we are excited to grow a team that makes sure secured creditors come first.”
The practice recently ranked among the top firms globally for advising creditors and distressed companies in The Deal’s 2025 league tables.
Cadwalader’s restructuring team focuses on senior, secured positions across the capital structure, supporting banks, private credit lenders, CLOs and multi-strategy funds on matters ranging from out-of-court restructurings to complex insolvency proceedings.
The appointments reflect the firm’s continued investment in cross-border, multidisciplinary restructuring capabilities spanning finance, corporate, litigation and tax.
Cadwalader co-managing partner Pat Quinn added: “A robust restructuring practice is an essential capability that is highly synergistic with many of our strongest practices on both sides of the Atlantic.
“Bevis and Doug are well positioned to lead our financial restructuring practice as we continue to grow to meet the needs of clients.”
