Fish and chip favourite in Cumbrian expansion
A fish and chip restaurant group has growth on the menu.
Trenchers is expanding into Cumbria.
The seaside favourite is set to open in Bowness-on-Windermere next year.
Bosses say it will operate from the former Windermere Lake Cruises’ Boatman’s Café site from April, with the venture set to create and support around 50 full-time, part-time and seasonal roles.
The Cumbrian base will add to existing restaurants in Whitby and Whitley Bay.
Kyle Mackings, Trenchers’ chief executive, said: “We’re so excited to be opening a new venue in Cumbria.
“Our fish, chips and seafood products see visitors and locals lining up around the streets of Whitby and Whitley Bay, so I’m sure it will prove as popular in the Lake District.”
The firm was supported on its expansion by real estate advice from Newcastle-based Mincoffs Solicitors.
Hannah Rolfe, associate solicitor, said: “Trenchers’ reputation has made it incredibly successful across its other sites and I’m confident it will be a popular addition to the offering in Bowness.
