Law firm 'opens new chapter' with office move
A law firm says it has opened a fresh growth chapter after completing an office move.
Richard Reed Solicitors has switched to new Sunderland headquarters.
Bosses say the move to The Beam business hub provides “space and facilities to keep evolving”.
Founded in 1948, the firm’s new 5012sq ft home replaces offices in Sunderland’s Frederick Street.
The 40-plus staff company was supported by a grant from UMi – via the Business Growth Fund, which is managed on behalf of Sunderland City Council – to complete the switch.
Sarah Reid, managing director, said: “Leaving Frederick Street after so many decades is a real milestone, but The Beam gives us the space and facilities to keep evolving while staying true to our values.
“Relocating to The Beam is more than just a change of address; it’s an investment in our people, our clients and the future of the firm.
“We’re genuinely excited about what this next chapter will bring.”
Phil Sly, UMi specialist adviser, added: “It has been a privilege working with the Richard Reed team to secure the funding required to support this move.
“This new office will not only give its team the modern workspace it deserves, but provide the room to keep growing for many years to come.”
The Beam – part of the wider Riverside Sunderland development – is already home to organisations including Ocado, North East Screen, Apexon and Asset55.
Councillor Kevin Johnston, Sunderland City Council’s portfolio holder for housing, regeneration and business, added: “We are delighted to welcome the Richard Reed team to Riverside Sunderland.
“I speak for everyone involved with the council when I say we wish them all the best for the future.”
