Muckle LLP appoints charities lawyer
Newcastle-based law firm Muckle LLP has strengthened its sports, education and charities team with the appointment of experienced charities lawyer Rachael Chapman as a senior associate.
Originally from Gateshead, Rachael joins Muckle LLP with almost a decade of post-qualification experience, having trained and qualified at a Magic Circle law firm.
Her background includes roles in private practice and as an in-house lawyer across national government and the private sector, giving her broad cross-sector expertise.
In her new role, Rachael will advise charities and not-for-profit organisations, including sports clubs and educational bodies, on a range of governance and commercial matters.
She said: “I was initially drawn to charity law because I wanted to make a difference, and that has stuck with me throughout my career.
“I really value being able to see how my work has a positive impact on real people.
“My passion for ‘doing good’ was also one of the key reasons for my joining Muckle, as I wanted to work for a law firm that values this as much as I do.
“The firm really cares about its clients, communities and people and is committed to making a real difference.
“I am already feeling settled into life at Muckle, but I am particularly looking forward to getting to know the firm's clients and experiencing a range of different work.
“The team has a huge variety of clients and work and I can’t wait to get stuck in!”
Rachael’s appointment further supports the continued growth of Muckle LLP’s sports, education and charities team, which is ranked top tier regionally for education and charities and nationally for sport by Legal 500.
Joanne Davison, partner and team head, added: “Rachael’s extensive experience and knowledge of the charities sector, coupled with her personable approach, make her a perfect fit for the team, and we are delighted to have her on board.”
