Law firm makes UN sustainability pledge
A law firm has unveiled a sustainability pledge.
Womble Bond Dickinson has added its name to the United Nations Global Compact programme.
Bosses say the move highlights the firm’s “unwavering dedication to responsible business practices”.
They add the company – whose UK footprint includes offices in London, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Teesside – will focus efforts on improvements around topics including poverty, health and wellbeing, education and climate action.
Described as the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, the United Nations Global Compact encourages companies to match operations with ten universally accepted principles across areas such as human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.
Sally Dallow, partner lead for responsible business, said: “By joining the Global Compact, we recognise the vital role businesses play in building a fairer, more sustainable future.”
Womble Bond Dickinson has further offices in Bristol, Leeds, Plymouth and Southampton, and operates nearly 30 bases in the US.
