Packaging company boxes clever with acquisition
A European packaging firm has wrapped up a takeover.
Nova Paper & Packaging B.V has bought family-owned BM Packaging.
Bosses say the move to a “dynamic group” will open a “new chapter” for the Huddersfield-based cardboard box maker.
Under the terms of the deal, BM Packaging managing director Chris Latham will continue running the business.
Founded in 1990, BM Packaging supplies a number of industries, with its portfolio including corrugated cases and die-cut packaging.
Dutch company Nova Packaging & Paper B.V is owned by Eren Holding.
Chris said: “The business has been in the family for 35 years, but this was too good an opportunity to miss in terms of growing the company and securing its future as part of a significant and dynamic group.”
The deal was supported by Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield-based commercial law firm Schofield Sweeney.
Jack Venable, a solicitor in the company’s corporate team, added: “It was a privilege to be involved in the sale, which sees a Yorkshire family-run business take a step towards the future as part of a global conglomerate.”
Joanne Powell, of KJA Group, provided financial and tax advice to BM Packaging.
Nova Paper & Packaging B.V was advised by law firm Tunç Fırat Dereli, led by solicitor Merve Akkuş.
