Mincoffs bolsters teams with double hire
A North East law firm has expanded its specialist teams as demand for legal services continues to grow across the region.
Newcastle-based Mincoffs Solicitors has appointed two new solicitors to strengthen its corporate and private client capabilities.
Charlotte Smyth has joined the firm’s corporate department, while Georgia Meyer has been appointed to the family team.
Charlotte brings experience from both regional and national law firms, having worked on corporate finance, private equity and investment matters.
Her background includes advising on multi-million-pound transactions across sectors such as health and technology, as well as handling complex cases with cross-border elements.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Mincoffs’ corporate team as they have an exceptional reputation in the North East and beyond.
“Their impressive client base is a testament to the quality and calibre of the team’s work.
“From my first interview, I knew that Mincoffs felt like a great fit for me culturally and since joining everyone has been so friendly and welcoming.
“I’m looking forward to further developing my skills and supporting the ongoing success of the corporate team and the firm as a whole.”
Georgia joins the family team with experience gained at Newcastle-based and national practices.
She advises on a wide range of family law matters, with a particular focus on divorce and financial settlements, including cases involving high net worth individuals and complex financial arrangements.
Georgia, who is also chair of the North East’s Junior Law Division, added: “Mincoffs has a great reputation for its family law expertise, so I was delighted when the opportunity arose to join such a highly regarded team.
“I was also drawn to the firm’s culture and its strong standing within the North East legal community.
“Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and I’m very much looking forward to working closely with the team, the wider firm, and getting involved.”
The appointments form part of Mincoffs’ continued investment in its people and service offering as client demand increases across key practice areas.
Established more than 75 years ago, Mincoffs provides legal advice to businesses and individuals across the North East and beyond, with services spanning corporate and commercial law, real estate, dispute resolution, employment, family law and private client work.
Paul Hughes, senior partner and head of corporate, added: “Mincoffs has had an excellent year and we are in a position to expand a number of our teams as we look to the future of these departments.
“Charlotte and Georgia bring a variety of experience to Mincoffs which will be a fantastic asset for both our business and private client offering.
“I wish them the best of luck in their new roles and I am sure they will be an excellent addition to the Mincoffs team.”
