Harrison Drury appoints employment director
Independent Northern law firm Harrison Drury has strengthened its Manchester employment team with the appointment of Sally Tomlinson as legal director.
Sally joins the firm with more than 15 years’ experience in employment law, having previously worked at Manchester-based firms including Slater Heelis and Nexus Solicitors.
In her new role, she will advise employers across the full employment lifecycle, from recruitment through to dismissal and termination, as well as on complex executive exits, employment status issues and post-termination restrictions.
Sally will also provide specialist advice on employment documentation, settlement agreements and data protection compliance.
Alongside her advisory work, she will support corporate transactions, working closely with the firm’s corporate team on acquisitions and disposals.
Sally said: “I’m excited to be joining Harrison Drury at such a key time and I’m looking forward to working closely with David and the wider team as we continue to build the employment offering in our region.
“My focus will be on helping clients deal with employment issues quickly and confidently, whether that’s day-to-day HR advice, managing workplace challenges, or supporting businesses through practical advice or training to achieve change and growth.”
Based in Harrison Drury’s Manchester office, Sally will work with partner David Carmichael to further develop the firm’s employment offering across the region.
David added: “In this fast-changing business environment, issues flowing from the Employment Rights Act 2025 are becoming increasingly complex for businesses and that means employers need clear, commercially focused advice to help them navigate these challenges.
“As we continue to grow our team in Manchester, having someone of Sally’s calibre on board ensures we can provide even greater support to clients across the region as they manage risk, protect their organisations, and achieve their long-term objectives.”
