Lloyds Banking Group names London ambassador
Lloyds Banking Group has named Ajneet Jassey as its new group ambassador for London, strengthening its regional leadership as it focuses on issues affecting communities and businesses across the capital.
A lifelong Londoner, Ajneet brings more than 15 years’ experience in senior banking and legal roles.
She joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2021, following 13 years at the Bank of England, and continues in her role as general counsel for disputes and operations.
As London ambassador, Ajneet will work with policymakers, businesses, charities and community leaders to support priorities including affordable housing delivery, business growth and opportunities across emerging technology sectors such as AI.
The role forms part of Lloyds Banking Group’s wider mission to help Britain prosper across its nations and regions, using local insight to drive practical, long-term impact in London.
Ajneet said: “For me, London is simply the best city in the world.
“It has incredible businesses and communities, and as someone who is proud to be from West London, taking on this role is a special opportunity.
“I’ve spent my career breaking down barriers to opportunity - from co-chairing the Bank of England's Black and Ethnic Minority Network to founding the Finance and Legal Ethnicity Community at Lloyds and serving as a trustee of the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales.
“I look forward to bringing that experience to London and getting out across the boroughs to meet with the businesses, charities and policymakers seeking to tackle the city's challenges and make the most of its many opportunities.”
