Merritts Solicitors welcomes returning partner
Yarm-based law firm Merritts Solicitors LLP has welcomed back Paula Warburton as partner, strengthening its private client team.
Paula returns to the High Street practice with 38 years’ legal experience, specialising in estate planning and trust advice. S
he previously spent eight years at Merritts, becoming a partner in 1998, before working with other local and national firms.
A graduate of Oxford University, Paula qualified in 1988 and later moved to the North East, building a long-standing reputation in private client law.
She now joins fellow partner Joanne Jackson in the department.
Paula said: “I am delighted to return to Merritts which was prompted by a desire to return to a High Street practice serving the local community and a real desire to return to the firm itself.
“Returning to Yarm and to Merritts feels like coming home again.
“The growth in demand means that there is more than enough work to support two full time private client partners, and we have also taken on a trainee to further expand and grow the department.
“It is great to have the team back together working with Joanne again.”
Merritts Solicitors, which has served the community for almost 60 years, continues to provide personal and commercial legal services across the region.
Managing partner Matthew Moran added: “I’m delighted to welcome Paula back to Merritts.
“She is an excellent solicitor and truly embodies everything we stand for - not only delivering outstanding legal services but also meeting the needs of local residents who value being able to speak face-to-face with friendly, approachable people.
“When Paula previously worked at Merritts, I was only in my late teens working as the office junior.
“It feels very strange, but also fantastic, to now be working together again both in the roles of partners.”
