Expansion plans approved at Integra 61
A County Durham mixed-use development is set to expand after securing approval for a major expansion.
Citrus Durham has secured planning consent from Durham County Council for a £340 million second phase at Integra 61, located at junction 61 of the A1(M).
The extension will add a further three million sq ft of employment space to the scheme.
The plans build on the success of the existing £400 million development, where most of the original space has already been delivered.
In its next phase, the project is expected to create around 300 construction jobs and could support up to 3000 roles once operational, generating significant economic output.
Designed to accommodate a mix of distribution and manufacturing units, the expansion will respond to regional and national demand, further strengthening Integra 61’s position as a key business and logistics hub.
James Taylor, Regional Director at Citrus, said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured outline planning consent, which is a significant milestone and the culmination of a long-held vision to expand Integra 61 and build on our successes across two phases, together once complete creating one of the region’s largest employment destinations.
“We’d like to thank the many stakeholders that continue to support us on this journey and we look forward to delivering this exciting phase with our partners.”
