Resort operator set for 'exciting growth' after seven-figure backing

A family-owned leisure operator has unveiled 75-job growth plans after securing seven-figure support.

Rudding Park is rolling out a 60,000sq ft golf and country club development.

Bosses say the move will add a new swimming pool and seven padel and tennis courts to the Harrogate-based venue, as well as bolstering its health and wellbeing offer.

They add it will deliver an estimated £14 million in annual gross value added to the Yorkshire spa town.

The operator, which has been owned by the Mackaness family since 1972 and includes 90 bedrooms and suites, a spa, three restaurants and two golf courses, secured its financial backing from HSBC UK.

Nick Mackaness, Rudding Park joint managing director, said: “This is an exciting new phase of growth.

“HSBC UK support will enable us to complete these development works, making sure our facilities exceed the expectations of guests.

“We look forward to expanding the team and attracting guests from all over the UK.”

Tom Sikora, HSBC UK relationships director, added: “Rudding Park is a fantastic example of an ambitious business in a competitive market with a clear strategy for growth.

“These developments will ensure Rudding Park stays a household name across the UK for many years to come.”
