MCPR lands lead PR role for film festival
A North East film festival is stepping up its profile with a new communications partner to support its next phase of growth.
MCPR has been appointed to lead PR and communications for the North East International Film Festival (NEIFF) 2026, building on its previous campaign which generated more than 90 million publication views.
The strategic partnership between Marriott Communications and CgPR will deliver a campaign aimed at raising the festival’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally.
NEIFF has quickly become a key event in the UK film calendar, attracting filmmakers, industry professionals and audiences from across the globe.
The 2026 edition will build on this momentum with a broader programme and increased industry engagement, taking place across venues in the North East and combining screenings, industry events and community activity as it continues to grow its cultural and international impact.
MCPR will oversee all communications activity, supporting efforts to attract high-profile filmmakers, partners and audiences, while strengthening the festival’s global positioning.
Samuel Marriott-Dowding, co-founder of MCPR, said: “NEIFF is one of the most exciting and ambitious cultural platforms in the North East.
“We’ve seen first-hand the impact it can have – not just for filmmakers, but for the region as a whole.”
Chrissie Pringle, co-founder of MCPR, added: “The festival has a powerful story to tell and we’re looking forward to building on the success of last year ensuring NEIFF is a must-attend fixture within the global film festival calendar.”
