LCF Law appoints head of personal law
Yorkshire-based law firm LCF Law has promoted Ann Christian to head of personal law.
Ann qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and joined the firm in 2007, becoming a partner in 2015. She advises clients on wills, trusts, estate administration and planning for later life.
In her new role, she will lead a team of almost 30 people across the firm’s offices in Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and Ilkley.
She succeeds founding partner Neil Shaw, who steps down from the management team after 38 years in the role but will continue as a client-facing lawyer.
Ann said: “Personal law and inheritance planning can be complicated, but it’s hugely rewarding to help people protect their wealth and assets, as well as ensuring that as much of their estate as possible is passed on without tax penalties.
“This is now a particular concern for many people, with upcoming changes to inheritance tax meaning unused pension pots will be brought into inheritance tax rules from next year.
“It’s a huge honour to step into this new role, leading a dedicated and diligent team, who all share my passion and enthusiasm for providing reliable advice and exceptional client service.
“Crucially, Neil has always strived to create an environment where everyone can thrive and develop to their full potential, and this will be a key part of my role moving forward, to ensure we continue to attract and retain the region’s best and most ambitious people.”
Neil added: “For almost four decades LCF Law has built a reputation for being a leading advisor on all areas of personal law and we have a huge number of returning clients across our offices, as well as acting for generations of countless families.
“This success is down to our expert, but straightforward advice and the fact that we always provide a very personal service with a reliable and longstanding team.
“Ann epitomises this ethos and always goes the extra mile for her clients, so she’s the perfect person to pass the baton to.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Ann in a client facing role, as she leads the team into the next chapter.”
