Farringford Legal launches insolvency practice

Surrey law firm Farringford Legal has launched a restructuring and insolvency practice with the appointment of Tania Clench as department head.

Tania brings more than 20 years’ experience across corporate and personal insolvency and is recognised by The Legal 500 as a leading practitioner in the field.

She is particularly known for advising and defending company directors facing financial distress and disqualification proceedings, having previously acted for the Insolvency Service on behalf of the Secretary of State.

Tania said: “The opportunity to build a practice from the ground up, within a firm that has strong corporate and employment capabilities, is a rare one.

“Clients facing financial distress rarely encounter problems in isolation – the legal issues tend to cut across employment, corporate governance, and commercial disputes simultaneously.

“Being part of a firm that can address all of those needs in one place is genuinely valuable for clients.”

The new practice will support businesses and individuals across restructuring, insolvency, distressed transactions and director advisory matters alongside the firm’s wider corporate and employment teams.

Sarah-Jane Butler, chief executive of Farringford Legal, added: “Tania is exactly the kind of specialist we have been looking to bring into the firm.

“Insolvency and restructuring issues increasingly intersect with the corporate, M&A and employment work we do for our clients, and it has long been our ambition to advise them in-house when those situations arise.

“Tania’s depth of experience and her reputation make her an outstanding addition to our team.”
