Knights appoints private client partner
Legal and professional services business Knights has strengthened its Sheffield private client team with the appointment of Gillian Coverley as partner.
Gillian joins after more than 20 years at Irwin Mitchell, where she served as an equity partner and held a number of senior leadership roles.
Based in Sheffield throughout her career, she brings extensive experience advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners and professionals on estate planning, succession matters, trusts and complex probate work.
She is also recognised for her work supporting charitable giving and legacy planning and was the only private client lawyer ranked Band 1 for Private Wealth Law in Sheffield and the surrounding area in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide 2025.
Gillian said: “I was attracted to the Knights model as it allows for partners to dedicate their time working closely with clients and building relationships.
“Having worked in Sheffield throughout my career, I’m looking forward to building on established connections and supporting clients through increasingly complex estate and succession planning issues, as well as developing the firm’s offering for charities and their supporters.”
David Lister, Sheffield client services director, added: “Gillian is a highly respected private client adviser with a long‑standing reputation in the Sheffield market.
“Her depth of experience, regional connections and strong client‑focused approach make her an excellent fit for Knights.”
