Harrison Drury appoints partner to launch civil litigation service
Law firm Harrison Drury has appointed civil litigation specialist Rob Kellock as partner to lead a new service offering within its dispute resolution team.
Based in Preston, Rob will establish a dedicated civil litigation practice supporting teams across commercial disputes, land and property litigation, and wills, trusts and probate matters.
He will also use his experience as a magistrates’ court advocate to support the firm’s regulatory and licensing team across the wider region.
Rob joins Harrison Drury after running his own specialist practice, RK Law, where he advised SMEs on matters including debt recovery, breach of contract disputes and County Court litigation.
Prior to that, he spent 13 years leading Kellocks Solicitors in Preston and has built extensive experience across both civil litigation and criminal defence work.
Alongside his legal practice, Rob is a member of the Law Society’s criminal litigation accreditation scheme, a member of the Federation of Small Businesses and a non-executive director at Assured Living housing association.
He said: “My freelance practice was in its seventh year and growing to the point where it was ready to progress to the next stage.
“I was considering how I could continue to grow the practice while servicing clients when the opportunity arose to join an established firm, one that already has a great reputation and an appetite for growth.
“It quickly became apparent this was the right move for me and my clients.
“Harrison Drury has referred clients to me for 15 years and I have a number of friends who work here already, so I’m really excited at the prospect of becoming part of the team.
“Having lived and worked in Preston for over 30 years, it’s also a dream come true for me to work on Winckley Square and to be surrounded by colleagues who are experts in their legal fields.”
Sean Gibbs, partner and head of Harrison Drury’s commercial dispute resolution and avoidance team, added: “Rob is a hugely respected and experienced lawyer who knows the civil litigation landscape and the workings of the county court and magistrates’ court system like the back of his hand.
“Having someone with this level of expertise available to work closely with our teams will offer significant benefits to the firm and ultimately our clients.
“Rob’s knowledge will be particularly useful in helping growing SMEs looking for a cost-effective way to pursue remedies when they have suffered financial loss.”
