Walker Morris strengthens planning team
Leeds-headquartered independent law firm Walker Morris has appointed David Wood as a director in its planning and infrastructure consents team, further strengthening its expertise across development, regeneration, energy and infrastructure projects.
David joins from Hogan Lovells, where he spent more than 13 years advising on major urban regeneration schemes, residential and commercial developments, and nationally significant infrastructure projects.
His experience includes work on developments such as Bishopsgate Goodsyard, Brent Cross Town and Grand Union, as well as advising on major infrastructure projects including a gas pipeline development consent order application and the Rookery South scheme.
Recognised by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, David is known for advising clients on planning strategy, consenting and complex development matters.
David said: “I’m delighted to have joined Walker Morris’s planning and infrastructure consents team.
“The firm has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, complex work and a genuinely collaborative culture.
“Having spent much of my career in London, it is particularly exciting to return to Leeds and join such a highly regarded team.”
David’s appointment supports Walker Morris’ Ambition 27 growth strategy and follows the recent promotion of Josh Kitson to partner, as the firm continues to invest in its national planning offering.
Lee Gordon, partner in planning and infrastructure consents at Walker Morris, added: “David is a great addition to the team.
“His experience across complex development and infrastructure projects, will complement the work we are delivering for clients nationally.
“His appointment further strengthens our ability to support clients on some of the UK’s most high‑profile development and regeneration projects.”
