Law firm moves to new office to 'sustain' growth

A law firm is expanding its presence in Yorkshire with a move into larger city centre offices.

Newcastle-headquartered Square One Law has agreed a five-year lease for 3000sq ft of Grade A office space at 7 Park Row in Leeds.

The firm, which also has an office in Darlington, will occupy the building’s seventh floor, increasing its floorspace and supporting future growth plans in the city.

The office forms part of a wider refurbishment of the landmark building, which was acquired by Augur Group and Firefly Capital Real Estate in June 2024.

Located in the heart of Leeds, 7 Park Row has undergone significant improvements to create modern workspace for occupiers.

James Jackson of Leeds-based property consultancy Carter Towler brokered the deal.

He said: “The arrival of Square One Law at 7 Park Row is a resounding endorsement of the comprehensive multi-million-pound refurbishment recently completed at this special building.

“The transformation of 7 Park Row undertaken by the landlords has been superb – creating Grade A, amenity-driven, fully fitted & CAT A office suites in the heart of Leeds’ professional core.”

“It is also encouraging to see Square One Law performing so well and continuing to grow its presence in the market. The quality of its occupiers is an important ingredient in the success of 7 Park Row.”

Elizabeth Ridler, partner at the Leeds office of property consultancy Knight Frank, joint marketing agents of 7 Park Row, added: “The 50,000sq ft Grade A office building is situated in a prime location, a short walk from Leeds railway station.

“Park Row famously connects the financial and retail districts of the city centre and is one of the most sought-after business addresses in Leeds.

“Park Row has also been enhanced by the pedestrianisation of City Square, the planting of trees and the widening of pavements, making it an exceptionally attractive street.”

The move marks the latest step in Square One Law’s expansion strategy as it continues to grow its presence across the North of England.

Matthew Thompson, commercial property partner at Square One Law, added: “This move into these fantastic, newly upgraded premises puts us precisely where we want to be – at the heart of a city we love.

“This move gives Square One the space required to sustain our intended growth, whilst also providing employees and visiting clients with the modern workspace and pleasant surroundings they deserve.”
