Finnegan strengthens litigation team
Intellectual property law firm Finnegan has appointed Jin Ooi as partner, strengthening its global patent litigation capabilities.
Jin joins the firm’s London office with a specialist focus on patent disputes across the life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices.
Recognised by The Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner, he also advises on intellectual property matters in the consumer products and technology sectors.
Jin brings extensive experience managing complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes, including litigation across the UK, Europe and other international markets.
His expertise also spans regulatory, commercial and transactional matters within the life sciences industry.
Jin said: “I am excited to join the Finnegan team.
“Finnegan’s market-leading IP practice and its ability to bring together international litigation teams in key jurisdictions in a cohesive way, in one firm, was a key factor in my decision to join.
“I’m looking forward to working with colleagues around the world to support clients facing complex, global disputes.”
Jin’s appointment further enhances Finnegan’s international litigation offering.
With more than 250 litigators across the US, Germany, the UK and the Unified Patent Court, the firm continues to expand its ability to support clients in cross-border intellectual property disputes and patent enforcement matters.
Darren Jiron, managing partner of Finnegan’s London office, added: “Jin brings a combination of global litigation experience and deep expertise in the life sciences sector that aligns well with our clients’ needs.
“Clients are increasingly facing disputes that span jurisdictions and require coordinated strategies across the UK, U.S., and Europe.
“Jin’s experience in managing these parallel proceedings and advising on complex IP and commercial issues will further strengthen our ability to serve clients where they need us most.”
