Vet practice unveils jobs plan in HQ expansion

A veterinary practice has unveiled job creation plans in a headquarters expansion.

Bridge Referrals hopes to create about 50 posts over the next two years.

The blueprint comes after the firm secured £2 million Lloyds business loan backing to launch a second base next to its Boldon Business Park home in South Tyneside.

Bosses say the move will deliver roles including veterinary surgeons, nurses and patient care assistants, and take its team to about 130 staff.

They add the investment will also introduce an out-of-hours service, an on-site MRI suite – supported by £540,000 asset finance – an intensive care unit, additional treatment rooms and rehabilitation space complete with a hydrotherapy treadmill.

Work on the new building is expected to be completed in October.

Emma Mace, Bridge Referrals’ director, said: “When a pet is unwell, owners want answers quickly and they want to know help is there when they need it.

“Expanding into the unit next door means we can see more pets.

“Lloyds understood our plans from the start; the funding will make a real difference for families and their pets.”

Stuart Harper, Lloyds Bank relationship director – healthcare, added: “Bridge Referrals’ expansion will mean more appointment availability, improved access to MRI diagnostics and dedicated intensive care and rehabilitation facilities.”
