Housing provider in £47.7 million upgrade scheme
A housing association has launched a £47.7 million property investment programme.
Gentoo is rolling out improvements across more than 2800 Sunderland homes.
The operator says the venture represents a “significant commitment to improving the quality, safety and sustainability of homes”.
The programme will see new kitchens, bathrooms and external communal doors fitted, as well as electrical rewires, roof replacements and external decoration.
Work will be carried out by Gentoo partners including RE:GEN Group, Esh Construction, PHS, Bell Group and Isoler.
Peter Akers, director of asset and sustainability at Sunderland-headquartered Gentoo, said: “This programme is a clear demonstration of our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of homes and meeting customers’ needs.
“It will make a real difference to more than 2800 households.”
