Corporate Trade Supplies UK's swoop for ShoeStation Direct follows deals for Industrial Workwear and Schott Packaging

Workwear firm steps on with shoe supplier deal

A work apparel supplier has expanded its footprint with a shoe firm deal.

Corporate Trade Supplies UK has bought ShoeStation Direct.

Bosses say the move makes it “the UK’s leading online seller of safety footwear” and adds £10 million revenue to the business.

The deal follows the retirement of the family behind Daventry-based ShoeStation Direct.

It also comes after Corporate Trade Supplies UK – which operates from bases in Northallerton, North Yorkshire; Haworth, near Doncaster; and Carlton Miniott Business Park, on the outskirts of Thirsk – wrapped up moves for Industrial Workwear and Schott Packaging.

AJ Swinbank, chief executive of Corporate Trade Supplies UK, which previously recorded £45 million annual turnover, said the swoop strengthens ambitions to hit £100 million revenue by 2028.

He said: “The acquisition is a significant investment in the future of the business.

“It strengthens our safety division with a powerful combination of product range, well-known brands and a large and loyal customer base.

“Our acquisitions are driven by a clear long-term vision and a defined goal of £100 million revenue for the financial year 2028; ShoeStation Direct gives us a powerful platform to accelerate that plan.”

Declan Quinn, of ShoeStation Direct, added: “After 20 years building the business, we are looking to take things a little easier and spend more time with our growing family.

“It is the right time to leave it in safe hands.

“Corporate Trade Supplies UK has the expertise and resources to enhance and grow what is a very well-respected business, while keeping the legacy going.”
