Cardo Group heats up with fire protection deal
A building maintenance firm has expanded with a takeover.
Cardo Group has bought R. Lewis & Co.
Bosses say the move for the fire protection services provider marks “an important part of continued plans for growth”.
Founded in 1997, Cardiff-based R. Lewis & Co is known for structural surveys, fire stopping and engineering, intumescent coatings and fire doors.
Liam Bevan, chief executive at Cardiff-headquartered Cardo Group, said: “R. Lewis & Co has an outstanding reputation in passive fire protection.
“Its specialist capabilities will enhance our fire safety services and support our work across building safety and compliance.
“This acquisition will enable us to expand our specialist teams and continue investing in the right services for our clients.”
Jonathan Lewis, operations director at R. Lewis & Co, added: “Joining Cardo Group is an exciting next step for the business and our team.
“It gives us access to greater scale and resources, while allowing us to continue delivering the quality and reliability our clients have come to expect.”
The deal comes just weeks after Cardo Group bought Merthyr Tydfil-based electrical and solar installation and maintenance company EFS Systems (UK) and expanded with a deal for Trident Maintenance Services.
