Gateley Legal adds residential development partner

Legal and professional services group Gateley Legal has appointed Jack Kelly as a partner in its Midlands residential development team.

Based in the firm’s Birmingham office, Jack brings more than 12 years’ experience advising housebuilders, promoters and landowners on residential development matters. 

He joins from Shakespeare Martineau, having previously also held a role at Gowling WLG.

Jack will work alongside Gateley Legal's specialist residential development teams in Birmingham and Nottingham, supporting clients on land acquisitions, strategic land development and a range of development agreements.

Jack said: “I’m excited to be joining Gateley Legal, which has a formidable reputation in the industry – acting for some of the biggest housebuilders and promoters, while attracting outstanding talent. 

“As a result, its specialist residential development team is working on some of the most notable schemes across the Midlands, as well as nationally. 

“I’m really looking forward to playing my part in this, supporting both the team and our clients in delivering much-needed housing and regeneration.”

Jack’s appointment builds on Gateley Legal’s recent investment in its Midlands residential development practice, following partner appointments in Birmingham and Nottingham. 

The firm acts for 18 of the UK’s top 20 housebuilders and handles around £2.5 billion of residential plot sales each year across its national network.
