Recruitment firm's 'new era' with employee move

A recruitment sector consultancy says it is entering a new chapter after moving to a fresh operational model.

Talent Insight Group has switched to an employee ownership trust.

Officials say the change will “secure the company’s long-term independence… and represents the next stage in its evolution”.

They add it will allow staff to “share in the future success” of the Newcastle-based firm, which is gearing up to celebrate its tenth anniversary.

The transition follows founder and chair Glen Hall’s decision to step back from day-to-day operations to pursue personal interests.

Founded in 2017, the business helps public and private sector clients use data and insight to carry out recruitment, retention and workplace functions.

Glen said: “Building Talent Insight Group has been an incredible journey.

“As we approach our tenth anniversary, I wanted to ensure the business remained independent and in the hands of the people who have helped make it successful.

“Employee ownership felt like the natural choice.

“It protects the legacy we’ve built, rewards our employees for their contribution and gives the next generation the opportunity to shape the future of the business.”

The move builds on the creation of an employee board, which was founded to provide a platform for staff to share ideas, influence business decisions and work alongside senior leadership.

David Steel, co-managing director and trustee of the firm’s employee ownership trust, added: “We have always ensured employees play a big part in shaping what type of employer Talent Insight Group is, so this feels like the natural next step in our journey.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the team to shape what Talent Insight Group looks like moving forward.”
