Law firm 'bats for local area' with cricket alliance

A law firm has stepped up to the crease with a cricket partnership.

Switalskis has become naming rights sponsor of Grimsby Town Cricket Club’s ground.

The Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire-based legal operator says the two-year deal reflects its commitment to “becoming part of the community and building relationships across the region”.

The move – which has seen Grimsby Town Cricket Club’s Augusta Street ground renamed Switalskis Cricket Ground – follows the law firm’s opening of a Grimsby office earlier this year.

Ed Atkin, joint head of residential conveyancing, said: “It’s clear how much this club means to the players, families and volunteers.

“As someone who was born and raised in Grimsby, it means a lot personally to support a club with such deep roots in the town.

“We’re looking forward to working alongside the club over the next two years, and playing a small part in supporting everything it does for local people.”

Emma Wigham, Grimsby Town Cricket Club spokesperson, added: “As a community club, partnerships like this are incredibly important.

“Switalskis’ support will help us continue providing opportunities for people of all ages, genders and abilities to enjoy cricket and ensure the club remains a welcoming place for players, volunteers and supporters.”

Switalskis’ office network includes bases in Bradford, Huddersfield, Knaresborough, Leeds, Sheffield and York.

It also operates a London hub.
