Law firm expands with new Sheffield hub

A national law firm is strengthening its northern presence with a new Sheffield city centre hub following a period of record growth.

Flint Bishop has opened a new office at 1 Holly Street, adjacent to Sheffield City Hall and Tudor Square, as part of a wider investment programme spanning people, technology and workspace.

The move follows the firm surpassing £43 million in revenue for the year ending April 30, 2026, having doubled in size over two years.

Momentum has continued into the new financial year, with first-quarter performance up 31 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Opened on August 10, the Sheffield hub provides more than 70 workstations alongside high-tech meeting facilities, collaboration and breakout areas, and dedicated training and event space.

The investment follows Flint Bishop’s acquisition of Lupton Fawcett and a series of strategic hires, with the firm also upgrading its technology and IT infrastructure.

Chief executive Qamer Ghafoor has led investment in advanced legal technology designed to integrate the Sheffield team with colleagues across the firm’s national network.

He says the new workspace will support flexible working, innovation and employee wellbeing while improving the experience for clients.

Qamer said: “Establishing our permanent city-centre home at 1 Holly Street is a significant milestone development for Flint Bishop.

“Following our record financial performance, this office provides the high-specification infrastructure required to meet surging client demand across Yorkshire.

“We are investing heavily in our people, technology and local footprint to bring a formidable, full-service legal offering straight to Sheffield's corporate sector.”

Qamer added: "Sheffield is a strategically important market for us, and these outstanding new premises provide the capacity, flexibility and facilities required to support our strategic plans.

“The new office will enhance collaboration and continue delivering the outstanding service and client experience for which Flint Bishop is recognised nationally.

“By positioning a highly capitalised, tech-forward firm right in the heart of Sheffield, Flint Bishop is offering local corporations and private individuals a compelling alternative: elite-tier national capability delivered by lawyers who live and work right in the city centre.”

The Sheffield move forms part of a wider programme of investment, with further enhancements planned across Flint Bishop’s Birmingham, Leeds and York offices and additional expansion opportunities being considered.

Flint Bishop now employs more than 460 people nationwide as it continues to invest in its workforce, technology and physical estate to support further growth.
