Wake Smith appoints commercial litigation specialist

Sheffield law firm Wake Smith Solicitors has appointed Andrew Donaldson as associate in its litigation and dispute resolution team.

Andrew brings seven years’ experience across a range of commercial disputes, including contractual matters, shareholder disputes, directors’ duties, professional negligence, breach of warranties and high-value money claims.

He also has experience handling disputes involving restrictive covenants, sales and purchase agreements and complex partnership issues, alongside a particular interest in technology and AI.

In his new role, Andrew joins Wake Smith’s five-strong litigation and dispute resolution team, which advises businesses on commercial and property disputes ranging from multi-million-pound, multi-party actions to smaller matters.

Andrew, who has lived in Sheffield for nine years, said: “Being a commercial disputes solicitor means you get to explore all kinds of niche business sectors through fall outs which inevitably happen. 

“Through my work I have gained insight into railway maintenance, advanced manufacturing, online sales, start-up financing, transport, green energy generation and other industries.

Andrew’s appointment strengthens Wake Smith’s litigation and dispute resolution team, adding further commercial disputes expertise as the firm continues to support businesses across a broad range of complex and high-value matters.
