Businesswomen invited to ‘bring their brilliance’

Women in business across the North East are being encouraged to share their expertise and learn from each other at a networking event in South Shields.

Bring Your Brilliance, organised by NotAllWomenWearCapes, will take place at The Vigilant Inn in Harton Village on September 2.

The event aims to move beyond traditional networking by encouraging attendees to consider both what expertise they can offer others and where they could benefit from support.

Participants could share a skill, business tip, useful shortcut or lesson learned through experience, while also bringing questions or challenges they would like help addressing.

The concept emerged from conversations at a NotAllWomenWearCapes breakfast in July, which brought together women from businesses across the region to discuss the realities of running and growing a company.

Originally launched around International Women’s Day, the initiative has developed into a programme of events after organisers identified demand for more opportunities to build connections.

The gatherings are being developed by Kaye Nicholson, founder of North East-based GrowthZone AI, and Sinia Jaswi, with a focus on creating an accessible and supportive business community.

Kaye has more than 25 years’ experience working with organisations ranging from SMEs to larger companies and now helps businesses adopt practical uses of artificial intelligence and technology.

Kaye said: “One thing that really stood out at our last event was just how much knowledge there was sitting around one table. 

“We had women from completely different businesses and backgrounds, but everyone had something they could share and something they could learn.

“That’s where Bring Your Brilliance comes from. 

“You might have a skill or a little business hack that feels completely ordinary to you, but it could be exactly what somebody else needs. 

“Equally, you might have a question you’ve been trying to figure out on your own. Bring that too.

“We want to build a community where women feel comfortable asking those questions and where we can genuinely help one another.”

Bring Your Brilliance is open to women from South Tyneside, Tyneside and the wider North East.

The event runs from 9am to 11am and includes a breakfast buffet, with advance booking required.
