Shakespeare Martineau expands regulatory team

National law firm Shakespeare Martineau has quadrupled the size of its Sheffield regulatory team amid growing demand for specialist advice.

The practice has grown from one to four people since partner Kamal Chauhan joined in May 2025 to establish and lead the team.

Regulatory partner Lyn Dario joined in January, followed by legal director Marie Bourke and paralegal Alesha Tong in May.

The team advises businesses and individuals nationally on regulatory, investigatory and enforcement matters, with expertise spanning environmental and health and safety law, professional misconduct, fraud, financial services and product regulation.

Its recent work includes defending a health and safety prosecution, representing professionals at misconduct hearings and supporting clients through inquests.

The expansion has also helped Shakespeare Martineau secure places on new legal panels and generate more than £600,000 in revenue growth.

Its growing caseload includes a corporate manslaughter investigation and the defence of a water industry prosecution.
