Aberdein Considine expands Newcastle team

Law firm Aberdein Considine has expanded its Newcastle team with two senior appointments to its lender services division.

Tahir Bashir has returned to the firm as senior UK recoveries operations director, while Susan Robinson has joined as senior associate.

Tahir brings more than 25 years’ experience in property and debt recovery and first joined Aberdein Considine in 2020 from Ascent Performance Group.

He left in September 2025 and has since gained further experience leading teams within another law firm and a major US bank before returning to Aberdein Considine.

Tahir said: “Aberdein Considine has already played a significant role in my career for more than five and a half years and I’m thrilled to have rejoined the firm. 

“Since leaving, I have had the opportunity to broaden my experience through leadership roles with both a law firm in the sector and a major American bank. 

“These experiences have provided valuable new perspectives that I am excited to bring back to Aberdein Considine.

“Returning to an organisation I know so well feels like a natural step. 

“I look forward to working with clients and colleagues old and new as we continue to grow, innovate and deliver excellent outcomes for our clients and customers.”

Susan brings more than two decades’ experience as a conveyancing solicitor and joins from Premier Property Lawyers, where she was a legal underwriter.

She added: “I am very pleased to join Aberdein Considine as a senior associate in Lender Services and to be part of an exceptional team. 

“Throughout my career I have built up extensive experience both in repossession sales and general conveyancing.

“I’m looking forward to putting my skills and knowledge into service to help grow the team’s understanding of client requirements, so we can continue to provide the best outcomes both for the firm and our clients.”  

The pair are both based at Aberdein Considine’s Newcastle office and add further senior expertise to its lender services operation.

Their arrival follows the recent appointments of Victoria-Louise Maugham as head of unsecured recovery and Sarah Phelps as senior associate, as the firm continues to invest in its lender services capabilities.
