Law firm backs women’s lifestyle festival
A North East law firm has been named main sponsor of a new three-day women’s lifestyle festival set to bring more than 55 sessions to Newcastle.
Newcastle-headquartered Square One Law is backing Show Up North, which will take place from October 9 to 11 and feature activities spanning fitness, wellbeing, business, style, confidence, food and lifestyle.
Created by North East businesswoman and Show Up Club founder Claire Goodliff, the festival has a strong regional focus, with around 90 per cent of its instructors, speakers, coaches, brands and businesses coming from the North East.
The sponsorship builds on an existing relationship between the two organisations, with Square One Law having supported the launch party for Show Up Club last year.
Claire said: “Square One Law and Show Up Club have such a natural fit in terms of values.
“We both care about confidence, individuality, inclusion and creating spaces where people feel able to show up as themselves.
“What makes this even more special is that this isn’t the first time they’ve backed us.
“Twelve months ago they sponsored the launch party for Show Up Club, so to now have them come on board as the main sponsor of Show Up North feels like a real continuation of that relationship.
“It means a lot when a business gets behind something at the beginning, before there’s a long history or a proven formula.
“They understood what we were trying to build then, and they understand what we’re trying to build now.
“Show Up North was created to bring women together, give them the confidence to try something new and celebrate the incredible talent we have here in the North East.
“I want this event to become something the region is known for, and having businesses like Square One Law continue to back that ambition is a huge part of making that possible.”
Show Up North will begin at venues across Newcastle on the Friday evening before moving to Event Northumbria for its main weekend programme.
Activities will include fitness and movement sessions alongside talks, workshops and experiences covering women’s health, sleep, nutrition, money, careers, style and confidence.
A marketplace will also showcase regional brands and businesses.
Deb Ions, marketing director at Square One Law, which also has offices in Darlington and Leeds, added: “Show Up North reflects so much of what we believe in at Square One Law: creating inclusive opportunities, championing our region and helping people feel confident to show up as themselves.
“The weekend will give people the space to try something new, make meaningful connections and prioritise their wellbeing in a welcoming, judgement-free environment.
“As a values-driven business, we’re delighted to support an event that brings people together while celebrating the talent, energy and independence within our region.”
Fenwick Newcastle, Scott Sports and Smart Works North East are among the other organisations supporting the festival.
Show Up North runs from Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11, with tickets and further information available through Show Up North and Show Up Club.
