Law firm celebrates Legal 500 recognition
A North East law firm has strengthened its standing in a leading industry guide after securing five top-tier rankings and recognition for 14 of its lawyers.
Newcastle-based Burnetts Solicitors has been recommended across ten practice areas in the Legal 500 UK Solicitors 2027 guide, with five achieving the highest Tier 1 ranking.
Its corporate, commercial litigation, medical negligence and serious injury, agri and estates, and commercial property teams all secured top-tier status.
The results also recognise individual expertise across the firm, with six lawyers named as Leading Partners, three as Next Generation Partners and five as Leading Associates.
Published annually, the Legal 500 assesses law firms through research including firm submissions and feedback from clients and legal professionals.
Burnetts’ corporate practice was recognised for its M&A expertise and knowledge of the Cumbrian business community, while its commercial litigation team was highlighted for work spanning commercial disputes, property litigation and contentious trusts and probate.
The firm’s agri and estates team was also recognised for expertise ranging from agricultural property and tenancies to renewable energy and succession planning.
Burnetts, which also has offices in Hexham and Cumbria, received further recommendations for banking and finance, employment, contentious trusts and probate, family, and corporate and commercial work in Newcastle.
Nick Gutteridge, managing partner, said: “I’m incredibly proud of these results and, more importantly, of the people behind them.
“What means the most is that the recognition reflects not just the quality of our legal expertise, but the experience our clients have of working with us.
“We have brilliant people right across Burnetts who care deeply about what they do and about getting the best possible outcome for their clients, so it’s fantastic to see their hard work recognised in this way.”
