Yorkshire partners unite on Kingston Club plans
A team of “best in- class” Yorkshire businesses has joined forces to help shape plans for a multi-million-pound health, fitness and wellness destination in East Yorkshire.
The proposed Kingston Club in Brough would feature padel courts, a fitness centre with hybrid gym spaces, a wellbeing spa and wellness studios offering activities including hot yoga and sound baths.
Plans also include co-working facilities, a cafe and conference space, with the development aiming to combine fitness, recovery, wellbeing and business facilities under one roof.

The project team brings together businesses from across Yorkshire, spanning architecture, interior design, engineering, project management and marketing.
Wakefield-based architectural practice The Harris Partnership, which has previously worked on schemes at Brough’s Bluebird Way development, is contributing its knowledge of the area.
It is joined by Huddersfield-based interior architecture and wellness design specialist Zynk Design, Sheffield construction and property consultancy WT Partnership and Wakefield civil and structural engineering firm HJCE.
Meanwhile, South Cave-based The Word Agency is providing marketing and PR support.
And WT Partnership is also supporting the development through cost consultancy and project management.
Bosses say the collaboration highlights the breadth of expertise within Yorkshire’s property, construction, design and professional services sectors, while giving regional businesses an opportunity to contribute to Brough’s continued development.
Richard Wilson, founder of The Kingston Club, said: “We want The Kingston Club to be somewhere to play, a reason to stay and, ultimately, a place where people feel they belong.
“Social wellness is central to what we're trying to create, which is why it is so important to us to work with these best in class businesses from across Yorkshire and bring together the expertise we have here in the region.
“We are committed to working with local suppliers and service providers wherever possible, so as the project progresses, this significant investment also creates more opportunities across the wider region.”
Christine Hartigan Phillips, head of wellness design at Zynk, added: “The fusion of fitness and wellbeing has been coming for a long time, and with the product mix The Kingston Club is set to have, we are helping Richard create a place which redefines the health club offering, attracting people to the area and providing jobs for local people.”
Matt Allcard, director at WT Partnership, added: “The area is changing at a fast pace: commercial, residential and leisure driving the change to the environment.
“The proposed Kingston Club adds something extra, with the opportunity to provide the region with a venue for people to maintain a healthy lifestyle which isn’t available to them right now.”
Subject to planning approval, construction and fit-out work on The Kingston Club is expected to begin early next year, with further details about the development, recruitment and opening plans to be announced in the coming months.
