Shakespeare Martineau appoints solicitor duo

Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has appointed two newly qualified solicitors in Sheffield following the successful completion of their training contracts.

Freya Whiteside has qualified into the firm’s commercial services team, while Lisa Bauroth has joined its tax team.

The appointments form part of Shakespeare Martineau’s continued investment in developing legal talent and providing routes for people to build long-term careers with the firm.

Alongside traditional training contracts, Shakespeare Martineau offers several pathways into the profession, including SQE graduate apprenticeships, self-funded SQE routes and CILEx options.

The firm says its recruitment approach focuses on candidates’ potential and suitability for a role rather than relying solely on academic qualifications, as it looks to broaden access to careers in law and develop its next generation of legal professionals.

Victoria Tester, managing director at Shakespeare Martineau, said: “Qualifying as a solicitor is a significant achievement and we are delighted to see Freya and Lisa take this important next step in their careers.

“Both have shown real commitment and enthusiasm throughout their training, making a valuable contribution to our Sheffield team.

“We are pleased to be able to support their continued development and see them establish their careers as qualified solicitors.

“Developing talented people is an important part of our role as a firm, and we are proud to provide opportunities for people to grow their careers while contributing to the strength and success of our teams across the country.”
