North Defence says its Yorkshire site will support significant growth plans

Military vehicle maker 'set to drive on' with new HQ

A military vehicle maker says it is primed to take more market ground after officially opening a new base.

North Defence has cut the ribbon on a Yorkshire site.

Bosses say the hub, on Rosemount Estate, in Elland, near Huddersfield, has doubled production space to 50,000sq ft.

They add the site – which includes a ten-tonne crane, production bays and a design and engineering hub – will support plans to quadruple the business’ manufacturing capacity.

Oliver North, founder and chief executive, said: “We’ve developed and sharpened our tools on the most modern battlefield on the planet, supported by some of the smartest and most agile British tech partners around.

“And we’ve invested significantly to show our intent.

“This investment represents a new league of capability for us as a business, for British manufacturing and for the European defence agenda.”

The move comes after North Defence opened a European headquarters in Luxembourg last year.

It was also recently named Leeds United’s official defence partner.
