Gateley names new technology officer
Legal and professional services group Gateley, headquartered in Birmingham, has appointed Nige Tranter as its first chief technology officer, strengthening its focus on digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
Nige joins the group’s senior leadership team in a newly created role designed to support innovation, improve client services and drive technology-enabled growth.
He brings more than 30 years’ experience leading technology transformation programmes across the legal and financial services sectors.
His previous roles include chief digital officer at international law firm Orrick and chief technology officer at Pinsent Masons, where he led digital, data and AI strategies.
He has also held senior positions at Gulf Bank and Barclays.
At Gateley, Nige will oversee the group’s technology strategy, with a particular focus on accelerating digital transformation and expanding the use of AI across its operations.
A key priority will be supporting the rollout of the Jylo AI platform, providing colleagues with secure access to AI technologies and tools designed to improve productivity and collaboration.
Nige said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Gateley, and I am looking forward to working with the excellent team we have assembled to accelerate the adoption of new technologies, unlock greater productivity and help shape the next phase of Gateley’s technology and innovation journey.
“Emerging technologies like AI are reshaping how professional services are delivered, creating new opportunities to enhance value for clients and transform how professional services businesses operate.
“Gateley is embracing this shift by investing in intelligent, scalable platforms and embedding innovation and digital resilience across the business.”
Victoria Garrad, chief operating officer at Gateley, added: “Technology is fundamental to the future growth of our business and the delivery of exceptional outcomes for our clients.
“The chief technology officer role is central to Gateley's business strategy, and Nige will play a key role in shaping Gateley’s future way of working, helping us harness AI and emerging technologies to enhance client service, improve operational efficiency and support sustainable growth across the business.
“Nige brings a wealth of experience leading complex technology and transformation programmes, alongside a deep understanding of how organisations can adopt digital, data and AI innovation responsibly and effectively.
“His appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in the capabilities, systems and people that will strengthen our competitive position and ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of our clients and colleagues.”
