Furley Page tackles team expansion with rugby-playing solicitor

A Kent law firm has strengthened its commercial property team with the appointment of a solicitor who also plays first-team rugby for a local club.

Canterbury-based Furley Page has welcomed Tyler Greenland to its real estate practice, where he will advise clients on a range of commercial property matters.

His responsibilities will include acquisitions and disposals, leasehold agreements, conditional contracts, option agreements and property finance arrangements.

Tyler qualified as a solicitor in 2025, having studied law at Swansea University before completing his Legal Practice Course and master's degree at the University of Law in London.

Alongside his legal career, he plays number eight for Canterbury Rugby Club, which has longstanding links with Furley Page through the firm’s sponsorship of the team.

The rugby club also contributed towards funding Tyler’s legal training.

His appointment further strengthens Furley Page’s commercial property offering while reinforcing the firm's existing connections with the local sporting community.

Tyler said: “It’s great to join a firm that has such a strong reputation in commercial property, especially one that is a supporter of the rugby club I play for.

“Rugby and the law are both important parts of my life, so the synergy between Furley Page and Canterbury RFC is an ideal situation for me and I cannot wait to get stuck in.”

Jeremy Licence, managing partner and head of real estate at Furley Page, added: “Our thirteen-person strong real estate team is widely regarded as a heavyweight in the sector, and we are always seeking to nurture new talent and maximise our offer to clients.

“Tyler has demonstrated great competence in commercial property law, and I am sure he will be a valuable addition to the team.

“Our partners, staff and guests have enjoyed many matches at Canterbury Rugby Club over the years, and we are very much looking forward to seeing one of our own performing on the pitch.”
